VFS Global lists an Italy Visa Application Centre in Manchester at 50 Devonshire Street North, Manchester M12 6JH. The official Manchester centre page gives the address and links to booking. For Tourist applications, VFS identifies Manchester as a satellite submission centre. Applications submitted there are sent to VFS London before being forwarded to the Mission in London.
That centre listing is not a local catchment map. The Tourist guidance names a consular district covering England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and certain other territories, but it does not allocate towns or counties to Manchester. Before choosing it, check with VFS that your residence and application can be handled there. Do not assume that being in Greater Manchester, or finding an earlier date there, proves eligibility.
The appointment route is for a Tourist Schengen visa. VFS says to apply to the country that is your main destination, meaning the country where you will stay the longest. Check your passport early. The Tourist guidance specifies at least two blank pages and validity extending at least three months beyond your return date from Italy. Every applicant, including children and infants, must submit the Schengen application in person on the booked appointment date. Booking is required; a notification or an unconfirmed date is not a substitute for attending. Before accepting an appointment, make sure each applicant can attend and that the date allows time to present the required documents.
Manchester is a satellite centre for this Tourist route. VFS says applicants submitting there should calculate two extra working days in addition to the minimum processing time, because the application is dispatched to London and then forwarded to the Mission. This is processing time, not a promise about when an appointment will appear or when a decision will be made.
